Takeoff’s debut solo album is nearly upon us.
The recent narrative in hip-hop is centered around one group, The Migos. The reigning champion now is none other but Takeoff. We have already welcomed Quavo’s Quavo Huncho, and in a few days time we would be saying Salam to Takeoff’s debut album, The Last Rocket, which is dropping on Friday. The album’s lead single “Last Memory” has been garnering appreciation across the board. Deeper news about the project’s inner workings remain scarce, though we can likely expect the usual suspects to make their clockwork appearances. Don’t be surprised to see Offset, Quavo, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, or even Cardi B hold it down, though it might be cool to see Takeoff step outside his comfort zone.
Today, the rapper once again kicked into promotional mode. The rapper took to Twitter to share a new trailer for his upcoming album, doubling down on the intergalactic imagery; perhaps Takeoff spent his childhood as a “space-camp kid” who rocked moon boots. We can only hope. “Buckle Up!” writes Takeoff, on Instagram. “In Less Than 72 Hours The Last Rocket Will Be Departing…”
